How about a visit to the Santa Claus Village in a reindeer drawn sleigh? Our safari starts with a car transfer to a reindeer farm where your very own reindeer sleigh awaits. After a tour of the farm we settle into the sleighs and head towards the nearby Santa Claus Village. Once there, you will have a chance to meet Santa Claus himself and visit the shops and Santa’s Official Post Office. We then say our goodbyes to Santa and a car brings you back to the city.
Join us to experience the magic of the northern nature in the evening twilight. After receiving a short lesson on how to drive a snowmobile we leave the city lights behind and head to the tranquil, nocturnal forests. We drive through the beautiful, winter landscapes before stopping for a break in the middle of the pitch dark forest. While our guide makes us a fire, we will hear a lot of stories and facts about the Northern Lights. We enjoy delicious and rich Lappish delicacies prepared by the fire and have a chance to observe the vast skies above you. With luck, you will see the amazing Northern Lights appear and dance in the sky. This is a night to remember for those who wish to combine snowmobiling, good food and the search for the Aurora Borealis.
Today we learn how to handle our very own team of huskies. The friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the farm and once you depart from the farm on the sledges the dogs quiet down and get to work. They love to run! For you it is time to enjoy the surrounding nature and the sledge ride in silence. During the ride we stop for a break in the wilds and have some time to take photos, pet the dogs and hear amazing stories of the lovely huskies. We drive two persons/team, and there is a possibility to change the driver along the way. After the safari it’s time for hugs and goodbyes to our honest and brave husky teams before the car transfer to the city. The average length of the trail is 14-17 km, but the weather conditions and the skills of the participants may affect the length of the ride.

Did you know that in Finland we call Northern Lights as The Fire of the Fox? Or did you know that even 10 minutes spent in forests lowers your stress hormones? Come and join Safartica’s Aurora Borealis Picnic to relax, enjoy local snacks and to hear more interesting stories – hopefully under the flaming Northern Lights. We start from your hotel and drive to the forest away from the distracting city lights. When the sky is clear and luck is on our side we do a short hike with snowshoes under the flaming Auroras and make up a fire on a spot where the sky is open. And even if the sky is cloudy and we don’t spot any Auroras, we get so much! The dark and tranquil nature is such a thrilling experience and we learn a lot from our experienced guide. Around the fire we hear many stories about Aurora Borealis, both believes and facts while the guide prepares delicious evening snacks with pure Lappish flavors. With a rested mind we head back to the city – hopefully under the flaming Northern Lights.
